Pen15

PEN15 is middle school as it really happened. Two comediennes, Maya and Anna, play versions of themselves as 13-year-old outcasts in the year 2000, surrounded by actual middle schoolers, where the best day of your life can turn into your worst with the stroke of a gel pen. Each episode follows the 13-year-old Anna and Maya as they navigate middle school and all the joyous (insert sarcasm) things that come with it.

PEN15 is a cringe-inducing comedy series that brings the viewer right back to middle school in the 2000’s. From the outfits, to the embarrassing moments, to navigating crushes, school dances, and choosing your AIM username, this show takes you down memory lane–whether you really want to remember 7th grade, or not! Produced by the guys behind Lonely Island, this show is awkward and funny regardless of if you were a middle school girl in the 2000s.

Editor’s Note:

This show had us hysterically laughing and then cringing the next moment. It really reminds you of being in middle school as a Millenial: dial up, AOL instant messenger, and all. It's unique and pretty hilarious, so we recommend you watch it. The second season drops September 18, 2020, so you won't have to wait if you want to binge right through 1 and 2. It'll be hard to beat the first one!
