Patriot Act
Patriot Act is a weekly show available on Netflix (and Youtube), where former Daily Show Correspondent, Hasan Minhaj, brings an incisive and nuanced perspective to global news, politics, and culture. There are 6 seasons. Every episode features a different topic, from the cruise industry, to fast fashion, why taxes are so difficult, the mental health system, why it’s becoming harder to retire, obesity, Brazil and the rainforest, Fentanyl, policing, etc. In an easy-to-understand way, Hasan informs the viewer in-depth about the topic at hand.
Patriot Act is the same name given to the law passed just 45 days after 9/11, in the name of “national security.” The Patriot Act was the first of many changes to surveillance laws that made it easier for the government to spy on ordinary Americans.
